I
have been drawing for as long as I can remember, and after reading a
horse story, I wrote my "first" book. Of all the things my mom kept, I
wish she would have kept that. I went to college for art, but writing
has always been a hobby. I've written Star Trek short stories, even
submitted a script for Star Trek: DS9. In 2000, the unexpected passing
of my father spurred me into taking a writing class. I always wanted to
do that, but never found the time. Billy and his adventures came out of
that class, along with letting me use my art ability for the sketches
showing his life; it was the best of both worlds for me. |
I
continue to paint, specializing in equine art, but I'm still involved
with Billy. After all, a lot of his adventures are based on my life;
there is a lot of fact mixed in with the fiction. A couple years ago I
revisited with him, and added more chapters and art- even designing a
new cover that is more representative of the book then the current one
is. As my artwork continues to grow, someday it will enable me to
further the adventures of Billy "THE KID" in a new, improved book. I
considered Billy a gift, and as it was special from the start; I will
never give up on him.
